Difference Between 1157 and 1156
1157 Connector: All LEDs emit a bright red light for running lights and an even brighter red for brake lights. When the turn signal is activated, all LEDs alternate between bright red and brighter red, ensuring you remain visible at all times.
1156 Connector: When the turn signal is engaged, all LEDs flash bright red to enhance visibility.
Which Should I Choose for My Bike?
1157 Style Signals: Ideal for bikes without a brake light on the rear fender. Your stock rear turn signals will function as running lights, brake lights, and turn signals, featuring two contacts at the bulb’s base.
1156 Style Signals: Necessary for bikes that have a brake light on the rear fender. These bulbs have a single contact at the base.
Both styles are plug-and-play compatible with Harleys that have stock rear bullet-style housings. Be sure to select the appropriate connector type (1157 or 1156).
